Assistant Winemaker

Having graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Food Science and Nutrition in 1989, Liz knew that moving to the Central Coast, four years prior, was a good decision. 

Her first experience in the wonderful world of wine began harvest of 1990 at Cambria Winery in Santa Maria, California as Laboratory Director.  Under the tutelage of Signe Zoller & Dave Guffy, her knowledge and hands on experience of every aspect of winemaking grew for an 8-year span.

Liz then worked at Edna Valley Vineyard and Winery as an enologist to broaden wine practices and skill in a smaller, yet more diversified environment. 

Both work experiences, laid the essential groundwork to join the team at CCWS.  For the last 5 years, Liz has been responsible for managing, training, directing, providing implementing, scheduling, creating, reporting and assisting the production side of bulk wine and custom crush contract customers.   A multi faceted job that leaves no time to be idle.
